Creating Body Templates :
In preparation for third year I chose to develop some posed body templates in order to challenge my illustrations in the future when placing the garments on to models; hitched legs and sat down.
This will allow my illustrations to be developed quicker because I will already have a model set up for them.
Basic Face Illustration:
This is a basic line drawing from an image of a females face from Pinterest
Development:
The structure of my illustrations begins with the eyebrows, then onto the lips and then the nose. I leave the nose as the last part of the face to illustrate because it’s the center piece, it can either make or ruin your illustration.
Added Detail:
I added details of colour to this design to make the lips, eyes and earrings pop as an accessory.
A New Challenge:
I chose to develop a male face and focus on the hair. Each piece of hair was a individual pen stroke to try and create realism of the image. I included small details of colour as well.
Reverse Imagery:
Within this illustration I chose to reverse the background and make the setting black to highlight selective features of the face.
A less Detailed design:
My other illustrations had become very line selective and restrictive to guidelines of the face. This look was inspired by pop art imagery and this is how I created a very basic facial illustration.
The idea of this illustration is that the focus is not on the details of the face unlike the others.
Wet look face:
I choose to create an illustration of a wet-look face to challenge my illustrator skills using layers and 3D effects such as highlighting and shadowing.
